Manifesting Your Thoughts

You hear a lot about manifesting dreams and realizing your hidden powers. Entire libraries have piled up with books that reveal a secret power hidden from you through which you can achieve everything you want. Countless videos, seminars, and websites portray the “power of manifesting” as a magical technique from fantasies. The power of social media has propelled these techniques at a pace never seen before. I have been part of a few of these trainings myself.

But I am skeptical about stuff claimed as “mystical” or “magical.”.” No, I don’t believe humanity has unlocked all knowledge in this universe. A vast ocean remains untouched and yet to be revealed to us. However, here we have something that many claim to work, and people have successfully implemented it, raising my curiosity about how it functions.

The ‘gurus’ who teach these techniques often explain it using the theory of energy and vibrations. They claim that you can resonate at a particular frequency with the universe to attract your goals or desires. At this point, the abundant universe can fulfill your wishes magically, like some genie in a bottle. Yet, billions of people living inadequately on this planet have to be able to unlock such a hidden power. How can that be? I have a different view about manifesting, which is not rooted in the mystical or magical but in the power of our subconscious brain and its ability to be programmed. But first, let’s try to understand luck or fortune.

Lucky Averages

Imagine a person who lives in an unbiased environment based on random decisions without critical thinking. This person decides randomly on the next step at every stage of life. At the end of their life, you will find that they still got about 50% of their decisions right and 50% that worked against them as prophesied by the law of averages. If you take a large sample of unbiased random stuff, you will find the average around the mean. If you toss a uniform coin about 100 times, you would expect heads about 50 times. If you toss it many such 100 times and average the results, the number would move closer and closer to 50.

By the same logic, people make their decisions about 50% of the time just by the law of averages. However, there is a slight difference in real life because we have biases in our thoughts, decisions, and environment. When you feel lucky because of an underlying cause, and you get lucky, you start linking the cause to your luck and fortune. This is where the concept of manifesting comes in. It’s not about luck in the traditional sense of random chance but about creating the conditions for success through your thoughts and actions. At this point, you begin supplementing the cause more and more to increase your chances. The result is that everything appears magical because you pushed a button somewhere and got fortunate in return. But, the power of manifesting is real. However, I have a different take on it, rooted in the power of our subconscious brain and its ability to be programmed.

The Power Within

The basic idea of manifesting is to repeat positive affirmations and beliefs to yourself, and the universe takes care of the rest. However, repetition does not set the universe in motion. It does, however, affect our subconscious brain. Our subconscious brain is not just a passive receiver of these affirmations but an active participant in manifesting. Within our nervous system is a dormant power, which is nothing short of magic if you can tap into it. Most people live their lives without actually touching upon it. Yet, no one is untouched by it. It controls our breath, our heart, our habits, our behavior, and mostly our lives. Yet it does this in such an insidious manner that people ignore its presence.

Our subconscious brain is a powerhouse whose potential is limited only by how much you can access and hone its abilities. The subconscious brain is the “survivor brain.” We unknowingly resort to it for advice for our survival and have been doing so over the millions of years of evolution. Our relationship with it is like that of a couple who has been married for over 40 years and has begun taking each other for granted. Yet, we rely on them for the most crucial decisions that help us survive and thrive.

Our habits, behavior, and personality come from our subconscious brain. Yet most don’t know how to access our subconscious brain to change something. The result is that our subconscious controls us and our lives, not the other way around. But the subconscious brain comes with a hidden hack. You can program it by repeating something again and again. Repetition of something tells your survival brain that it is essential. After sufficient repetition, it internalizes the program just like a habit, revealing the profound influence of our subconscious on our lives and empowering us to take control of our destiny.

So, when you repeat positive affirmations such as ‘I am capable ‘or ‘I am worthy ‘and surround yourself with positive symbols like a vision board with images of your goals or a gratitude journal where you write down things you are grateful for, you repeatedly communicate positive imagery, ideas, and thoughts to your subconscious brain. After sufficient repetition, the subconscious absorbs these qualities in your behavior and personality. A better personality and behavior translate into positive results in life. Moreover, the subconscious subtly intervenes in critical decisions, slowly propelling you toward your desired goal. This magic works within and not outside the universe or some distant celestial galaxy, empowering you to shape your destiny.

Each of us has the power to change our destiny. However, only some become aware of it, and fewer still need to learn to successfully tap into this vast resource. We can create our fortune and fate, lying dormant within us. If only we learn to harness it, we can manifest the life we wish and start on the path of self-improvement and personal growth, inspiring us to reach our full potential!
